Pinot Noir Releases
2002 Pinot Noir
    SOLD OUT
Extraordinary colour concentration and richness complement the beautifully fine, silky Pinot. The dark cherry and red fruit aromas and flavours are enhanced by a background complexity that will continue to grow.
"A big, black, ballsy pinot that shows huge concentration of aroma and flavor."
    4.5 stars ***** (James Halliday)
"The season produced exceptional fruit with full ripening, small berries with some hen and chicken that releases the added concentration."
    Winemaker John Boucher
"It's always a pleasure to discover another cracker pinot to add to the ever-burgeoning list of wines worthy of drinking, Kyneton Ridge Estate is a brand new name in the world of wine and is located about ten minutes drive from the Central Victorian town of Kyneton. Nestled among the huge granite boulders, the four and a half hectare vineyard is planted to pinot, chardonnay and shiraz. The wines are made onsite by owner John Boucher and the 2002 was (remarkably), only his second vintage. A big, black ballsy pinot that shows huge concentration of aroma and flavour. Balsamic vinegar, black cherry, beetroot and baked oak prevail. Yes, it's inky and rich in the mouth, but this is no dry red- there is a lovely twist of sappiness among the sweet fruit and uplifting pepperminty coolness on the finish. The oak is hardly noticeable and the overall impression is one of harmony and integration. Okay, it's big, but it's varietally correct… and, more importantly, bloody delicious."
